A "MANDATE" for Studying the Word!

The EBC Men's League took a break from another study series and began a sort of "man-date".  No, it wasn't two or more men watching sports together.  It wasn't that kind of man-date!  :)  I am using this word with a different definition.  Allow me to explain...

Every day has its pleasures. One of my pleasures this last Sunday afternoon was to have 16 EBC men with me in my home and all focused on the first 5 books of His Awesome Word!!  We are fulfilling a "mandate" from the Lord; a directive, a command or even a deputation as men of God training around the Word of God!

Three verses in particular highlight this gathering of EBC Men of who are committed to growth, service and leadership in His church:
~ Ezra 7:10 - "For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the Lord and to practice it, and to teach His statutes and ordinances in Israel."

1 Corinthians 10:11 - "Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come."

Micah 6:8“He has told you, Oh man, what is good and what does the Lord require of you, but to justice (do justly) and to love kindness (mercy), and to walk humbly with your God.”

Charles Spurgeon said, "Visit many good books, but live in the Bible."  We want  our EBC men to be men of the Word, yet, there will be a heavy emphasis on practical theology.  In this way they will be men serving as His instruments using His Word!

We would ask your prayers for us to stay focused on our commitment to this task of surveying these first books of the Old Testament.  Assignments include reading, memorizing key ministry verses and themes, plus men encouraging other men to stand firm and serve with excellence.

I thank the Lord for  answering this long-standing prayer since December 2008, namely, that SOMEDAY  I would be leading and teaching men through this magnificent Bible training material!  "SOMEDAY" IS FINALLY HERE!!

That Touchy Subject!

The Abortion Issue - Tuesday during Christian Apologetics class we began to tackle this. It is a common thing for churches to be confronted with.  It is common to every church leadership that they must come to grips with it, educating their people in the biblical foundations and ramifications of it.

We are using Living Waters‘ “180 Movie" as a launching point for our class discussions. This is a film which looks at Hitler & the Holocaust of WW2, the sanctity of life, belief systems, Christian & human ethics, logic, reason, truth and, of course, discusses the holocaust of abortion.

Interestingly, those who are seen changing their position on this issue in the movie, doing a 180 degree turn if you will, are the reason for the unique title. Pray for our students as I challenge them towards being better prepared for a biblical defense. Thanks for praying!

Be Sure to Stay Connected with Us!

We recently changed our website URL to www.EquipAsia.net.  The old URL address of EquipManila.com will stop pointing to the new URL on Nov. 1st, giving only an error at that point.

We have the same focus and vision for ministry and we are based in Manila, but things have obviously expanded.  We have come to realize that our graduates from the seminary are serving all over Asia as well as all around the Philippine Islands!  Also, Kim's work with MKs and Third-Culture Kids (TCKs) at Faith Academy helps to support ministries and missions all around Asia.

Along with this we have established our ministry emails as:
~  Robert@equipasia.net & Kim@equipasia.net

Please write to us anytime at these emails.  We always appreciate hearing from those who are a part of our support team, who are our senders and who are praying!

In addition, you can follow us at the following social media:

Visit www.EquipAsia.net & Learn More!

The Philippine Islands are known as the "gateway to Asia". Well, in regards to the gospel being taken to Asia that could very well be true as many young Filipino men and women are preparing for ministry even as missionaries in other Asian countries.

Since many of those who graduate from the seminary here are now serving around the Philippines, as well as throughout Asia and beyond, then it seems fitting to change our website name to reflect it.  They need our prayers!  We need to help prepare them.

It is titled EQUIP! since that is what we do, but also it is now known www.EquipAsia.net
