Preaching Together on UNITY!
I was pleased to be a part of the team of preachers in the pulpit yesterday. We team-preached! Each of us had a 7 minute section of the sermon with a focus on selected “one-another” verses under the acronym UNITY.
Pastor Roi gave the introduction with a focus on "Understanding Biblical Unity" using 1 Corinthians 12:12-14. I preached the first point related to Nurturing One Another (1 Thess. 5:11). Pastor Joe took the second point of Interceding for One Another (James 5:16). Brother Yutaka preached on Thinking with the Mind of Christ together (Romans 15:5-7). Then, Pastor Vincent wrapped up everything with an emphasis of Yielding to the Biblical Marks of Unity (Psalm 133:1).
I sense more than ever a comradeship amongst us that we trust will translate into exalting Christ further and the gospel truths of His Word going forth in power. Thanks for praying!

50 Seminarians in Christian Missions Class! My Christian Missions & the Book of Acts class on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5-6:30pm is quite full! We've been moved to one of the music rooms to accommodate the numbers.
Pray for me as I lead, teach and train them into a deeper understanding of what God has done in missions, what missionary life and work is like and how they can determine His call on their life as an extension of the local church. If the gospel will be taken to another part of the Philippines or another country in Asia or beyond then it will be through the calling of missionaries among young people like these. Thanks for praying!

Donated Chrome Books Put to Work! I was very pleased to learn this week that last year‘s donated Chrome Books have been put to good use at the Seminary. After some initial struggles with the electrical situation, some physical keyboard problems that needed a remedy and decisions as to how to best distribute their use, we are finally seeing the initial need met.
Most of the laptops are being used by teachers and administrative secretaries who for many years now have had to share a couple of desktop computers in the offices. The use of these laptops has made their work more efficient and less stressful.
Two work stations are presently set up in the seminary library, which are connected to the internet and printers. This is yet a further step to help the seminary enhance the learning and training environment of their students! Please continue to pray for them and that the Lord would provide more laptops for more work stations in the seminary library. Thanks for praying!

And the Rain Just Keeps on Coming! The view from Kim‘s Faith Academy classroom of the atmospheric condition over the City of Manila just this last week as a new rain, lightning and thunderstorm storm rolled on through! ? While we were in the states for Jason & Kenna's wedding it rained strongly over several weeks.
When we returned we had to deal with the aftermath of our ministry vehicles getting flooded. We live in a flood zone now but this was an amazingly powerful flood that lasted only one hour, but got up to the stick shift in our cars! We had another 10+ days of constant and consistently heavy rain after our July 10th return.
Our cars are getting repairs done gradually. While we use one, the other is getting repairs. On the plus side of things, we had bought older Toyota Revo SUVs
and because of this they are more mechanical and less computer dependent. Our mechanic has told us that this means they are salvageable for hundreds of dollars rather than a loss of thousands or even potential total loss. Well, that's a silver-lining in the whole scheme of things that we didn't figure on, so we are glad of that! Please be in prayer for us as we deal with these repairs.

Items for Prayer
~ Praise the Lord with us for the beginning of a new school year. At the seminary there's been an official adjustment to the school year and we will finish the 1st semester about December 5th and the school year will end at the end of April. Next year another adjustment will take place and we will finish that school year at the end of May. This is in accordance to the Philippines department of education's new laws related to their school system. Though students must now finish 12th grade and it effects our enrollment, yet the upside is that when they arrive to the seminary, then they will be 3 years older as freshmen and more mature as well.
~ Pray for the Hanson family. They expect their 4th little boy, Brayden Hanson on or around January 3rd and all the little brothers are very excited!
~ Pray for me as I have begun teaching at the seminary again and I
have 40+ seminarians in Christian Apologetics and 50+ students in Christian Missions. In addition, I have an independent study freshman student in a new class called The Missionary and Ministry which is strictly for missions majors.
~ Pray for Kim as she begins another year of teaching HS math and discipleship at Faith Academy. She will be teaching HS math in the subjects of Pre-Calculus, Algebra 2 and Applied Math. In addition, the new Geometry teacher seems to fit really well with the whole philosophy of teaching in the math department and its focus on discipling students.

The missionary kids Kim works with at Faith Academy need an education and to be challenged with the truth of the gospel, even while their parents serve in ministries all over the Philippines.
Out of 2 Timothy 2:2 we find a premier passage related to passing the baton of ministry to the next generation... "The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."
