The Resurrection of Jesus Christ!

From the Clarks in Manila to you, a Blessed Resurrection Sunday!  One of my favorite artists is Ron DiCianni as he seems to capture the detail of biblical events and stories.  In a rather subtle way he portrays biblical symbolism as well.  I first came into contact with his work when good friends sent to us the illustrated book "The Gift", by R. Kent Hughes.  DiCianni provides one grand picture for every chapter that walks through the major events and characters of the Incarnation.

On this Resurrection Sunday, as we celebrate the good news that Christ broke the power of death to prove all that He claimed about Himself and to bring us the love of the Father, I offer this wonderful mural painting of Ron DiCianni.  Notice off to the left are those who gave Old Testament prophetic testimony to Christ's eventual arrival, the angelic grandeur of His resurrection and then the New Testament witness to the right with Calvary in the background.

Luke 24:6-7 - "He is not here, but He has risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.”

1 Peter 1:3, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,"

Just a Few More Training Resources Needed!

Our EBC Ministry Enrichment Seminar is now scheduled for May.  Here at the beginning of April, balikbayan boxes are being prepared by our good friends Jonathan and Jennifer Stout to send to us here.  It can take about 30-45 days to arrive.  We want to be ready to distribute them for the Ministry Enrichment Seminar.

There's still time to help us with resources for these faithful servants of the Lord at Emmanuel Baptist their numerous ministry venues, please click the button below.

Even if we end up with extras, its ok, because they will be distributed, used and useful for training God's people serving in many capacities.  So far our tally looks like this:
~  22 DONATED! = NKJV Holman Study Bibles (Large Print/Imitation Leather)
~  11 DONATED! = Spiritual Depression by Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones
~  22 DONATED! = Nine Marks of a Healthy Church, by Dr. Mark Dever

If you want to purchase any of these resources from Amazon without using the Amazon list we created, then you can just have the book or books you buy shipped to:
Jonathan Stout, 38065 Murrieta Creek Dr., Murrieta CA 92562.

(PS - the Amazon list we created works best from a laptop/desktop browser or iPad...it's having troubles from an iPhone).  Thank you for your help in training God's people in the Philippines!

Vacation Break on Talipanan Beach!

Last week it sure was nice for us to get away to Talipanan Beach near Puerto Galera on Mindoro! It‘s the first time our school breaks have almost lined up to be at the same time together! So I just had a bit of work to do while we were there.

Below is the view along Talipanan Beach. Over a year ago a huge storm came through the area and it completely changed the structure of the beach and shoreline so that tons of sand got swept away. Lots of coral was lost as well. So rather than a deep beach it left something of a deep end of the ocean here. Still we had a great time and are grateful for the time off.

And Now for Something Completely Different!

Due to the loss of much of the beach in front of this area, it acts like a bit of a harbor.  We were surprised at the water sports and boats coming in and out.  Yet, it stands to reason that if you lose your beach you can gain this sort of activity.  According to locals it‘s the first time this Tornado ride has been used on Talipanan Beach and if it‘s a hit it‘ll be here a lot! They all returned safely so based on their smiles it was a hit! If you end up in the area, you can order your Tornado ride from Aja at Joan Beach Resort! ?

Partnering for a Generational Legacy!

The seminarians Robert equips at BBSI are training for their calling to serve in His church with excellence. The missionary kids Kim works with at Faith Academy need an education and to be challenged with the truth of the gospel, even while their parents serve in ministries all over the Philippines.

Out of 2 Timothy 2:2 we find a premier passage related to passing the baton of ministry to the next generation... "The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."

When you join us in prayer ministry and regular financial partnership, you are investing in a movement of equipping a new generation for Christ and thereby partnering in a legacy for future ministry in the Philippines and beyond.

We are presently down in support by about 5% of our pledged monthly needs, which is common after arriving to the mission field again even after a long and fruitful furlough.  To invest in this work, simply click the button to go to ABWE's secure online donation page.  There you can arrange automatic monthly support.  All support donations are tax-deductible.

Well, in regards to the gospel being taken to Asia that could very well be true as many young Filipino men and women are preparing for ministry even as missionaries in other Asian countries.  They need our prayers!  We need to help prepare them.  Click on the button to see my new ministry blog..."THRIVE!".
