Going Underground: Electrical Substations and Health

Concerned citizens and municipal authorities contacted their public health region about a proposal by an electrical utility company to build an underground electrical substation in an urban area, near to an elementary school and playground. Find out how the NCCEH assessed the situation with a focus on understanding how exposure to power frequency electromagnetic radiation may impact health.

Summary:
Radiofrequency and
Health

This 4-page summary document details RF exposure from common wireless devices. The context for this summary originates from a comprehensive RF toolkit, developed in 2013, in response to requests for assistance in assessing the sources and potential health effects of RF exposure.
