Hello from the Race Week promotion team
Welcome to Race Week 2017 and to the first of the regular e-newsletters keeping you informed of what will be going on at the UK's premier dinghy regatta. We'll update you at monthly intervals until right up to the first starting gun on August 21.
News now is that the website has woken up, highlighting videos of last year's activity so that you can see what happened both on the water and off, and also hear from competitors what makes the week special. For anyone who wasn't among the 625 people from 53 clubs who competed these will give a taste of what's in store this time. Also, results from 2016 are just a click or two away, so you can see where your friends or rivals finished.
On-line entry opens on March 1 and the
NOR will be posted by then, giving details of the programme, class starts and handicap categories. Meanwhile, other tiles on the home page link to details of host venue Hayling Island SC, tips on how to win races in Chichester Harbour, more photos, places to stay and activities for non-sailors when they're not enjoying a panoramic view of the racing from HISC's balcony. The early-bird entry discount will be repeated this year.
If you haven't yet made up your mind where to go for a great week's racing this summer, remember that Chi Race Week is a regatta, not a championship. The atmosphere is relaxed; the emphasis is on enjoying your sailing. Think of it as elite club racing on a grand scale. We look forward to seeing you.
