Happy Thanksgiving!

"I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds." ~ Psalm 9:1

We are so grateful to the Lord for our family, which grew in 2017 because of the March 22nd arrival of Caedmon Michael Hanson (now 8 months old) and will grow again this year following our son Jason's engagement over the weekend to wed Kenna Hunt!  We praise the Lord for His blessings in these and other ways.

We are also giving thanks for the long list of supporting churches and individuals that make up our support team.  Your faithfulness in prayer and support keeps us going strong in this work.  It is a huge sacrifice to be away from family and friends in this work, but we are able in the strength of the Lord because of you.

We have managed to arrange a visit at Christmas and New Years to be with family and friends in CA from December 15th to January 5th.  We will be in Crockett, CA with our family 12/15 & 16 and then in Murrieta, CA from 12/16-19.  After that we will be in Banning, CA staying my mother's home through Christmas and in Northern Cal in Crockett from 12/27 to 1/5/18.  Praise the Lord for a loaner car while in So Cal and pray with us for the provision of a loaner car from Dec. 27th to Jan. 5th while we are in Northern Cal in the SF Bay area.  We will fly in and out of San Francisco.

Travel Epistles Class!

These guys are quite serious about their training and I’m really glad of that. On Thursday we watched the Read Scripture video overview about 1 Corinthians and then talked it over before we began lectures for a general overview of this epistle. Travel Epistles during the second semester is my premier class which affords me the opportunities to help my seminarians begin to transition to looking at practical theology just prior to graduation and their internship.  I try to pose practical ministry case scenarios along the way as we study these important books, forcing them to consider how to biblically solve those common church issues.  Please continue to pray for these pastors and preachers in training. Thanks for praying.

Partners in Ministry!

On Saturday for 4+ hours, Yutaka and I got together again after a couple of months or so of not being able to arrange it. We discussed ways to help improve our preaching prep and sermon delivery.

We talked over ministry opportunities at Emmanuel Baptist and also upcoming preaching he will do at one of EBC’s church plants. Finally, we committed once again to prayer and accountability for one another as we stand together in various ministry roles at EBC.

Yutaka is now head of the deacon board and has numerous leadership roles. I am now serving alongside him during adult EBC Sunday School hour as he teaches the college level group and I teach singles/young professionals.

This past Sunday Yutaka preached at a church plant, so we combined the two groups and I led them in biblical discussions centered around church leadership. Please continue to pray for Yutaka and his family and his ministry efforts. Thanks for praying.

Partners in a Generational Legacy

A premier verse related to passing on the baton of ministry to the next generation is 2 Timothy 2:2, "The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."

When you join us in prayer ministry and regular financial partnership, you are investing in a movement of equipping a new generation for Christ and thereby partnering in a legacy for future ministry in the Philippines and beyond.

The seminarians Robert equips at BBSI are training for their calling to serve with excellence. The missionary kids Kim works with at Faith Academy need an education and to be challenged with the truth of the gospel, even while their parents serve in ministries all over the Philippines.

To invest in this work, simply click the button to go to ABWE's secure online donation page.  There you can arrange automatic monthly support.  All support donations are tax-deductible.

Click on the Equip logo and you will be directed to our website to know more about the vital ministries we are involved with in Manila and beyond.  It's been said that the Philippine Islands are the "gateway to Asia". Well, in regards to the gospel being taken to Asia that could very well be true as many young Filipino men and women are preparing for ministry even as missionaries in other Asian countries.  They need our prayers!  We need to help prepare them.  Click on the button to see my new ministry blog..."THRIVE!".
