Partnering to Train Seminarians!

We had a special speaker for Revelation class on Tuesday as our Pastor Vincent Castillo from Emmanuel Baptist spoke with my seminarians about Eschatology and the Book of Revelation.  He has a wonderfully unique presentation which gives a good overall picture, but also elicits good specific feedback from the audience.

It is noteworthy that this presentation combines a look at God's Plan: Past, Present and Future and remains focused on the truth of God's Word rather than speculations and predictions.  In other words, it presents a solid biblical hermeneutic and interpretation on the end times and the ultimate triumph of the Lamb!  As such, it supports what I've been teaching them in all their classes over the last 5 years.

Pastor Vincent's overview also provides a great help to me in finishing the semester with these students. Please pray his message today will be used of God to help prepare our future pastors and Bible teachers for their work in the churches. Thanks for praying!

16 Graduating Seminarians in Travel Epistles!

Final test before graduation! These are my graduating seminarians in Travel Epistles (well, 16 out of 17 will graduate in April).  Last Thursday was their final test in this class and all of their classes.

Tuesday evening, instead of a regular class meeting on campus from 5-6:30pm, we will host these 17 young men at our home for a Filipino style dinner and dessert. Then, I will lecture one last time on John Bunyan & The Pilgrim‘s Progress. They had to read this book twice during the semester as an assignment and write 10 different response papers.

The Pilgrim's Progress (or TPP) is an allegory based on Scripture and loaded with theology, plus, many truths on salvation and sanctification, for living the normal Christian life. Out of this lecture (and no quiz!) I will give these soon-to-be-pastors some final charges, warnings and encouragements before they begin their internships.

These are future preachers, pastors, theologians & shepherds for the church in the Philippines. Please pray for these young men and us as we minister to them. Thanks for praying!

EBC Ministry Enrichment Seminar in May!

Our training seminar with a focus on discipleship in the local church is now scheduled for a Friday evening and Saturday morning in May.  I have been given the privilege to serve with 2 seminar messages:
~ 1.  "The Sufficiency of Scripture in Discipleship" (Friday night)
~ 2.  "Constructing a Framework for Discipleship" (Saturday morning)

After each of these sessions, the EBC pastors will field a Q&A time along the lines of practical ministry and disciple-making with those who serve in Emmanuel Baptist and its outreaches and church plants .  Please continue to pray for us as we prepare for this great opportunity to equip God's people for service.

If you can help us with the donation of resources for this training event, please click on the link below.  We hope to send the resources via balikbayan boxes at the end of March or the beginning of April.  Thanks for praying and giving!

Training Resources Needed!

Our EBC Ministry Enrichment Seminar is now scheduled for the end of April.  Which means we still have time to raise the rest of these resources.  The following is what we have thus far.  Any additional resources will definitely be used and distributed to those who need them in Emmanuel Baptist and EBC church plants or outreaches.  So far our tally looks like this:

~  10 DONATED! = NKJV Holman Study Bibles (Large Print/Imitation Leather)
~  9 DONATED! = Spiritual Depression by Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones
~  20 DONATED! = Nine Marks of a Healthy Church, by Dr. Mark Dever

If you can help us by sponsoring a book or books for the training of those who serve in this church and its church plants & outreaches, then please click the button below.  If you want to just purchase them from Amazon without using the Amazon list, then you can have the book or books shipped to:  Jonathan Stout, 38065 Murrieta Creek Dr., Murrieta CA 92562.

(PS - this works best from a laptop/desktop browser or iPad...it's having troubles from an iPhone).  Thank you for your help in training God's people in the Philippines!

Partnering for a Generational Legacy!

The seminarians Robert equips at BBSI are training for their calling to serve with excellence. The missionary kids Kim works with at Faith Academy need an education and to be challenged with the truth of the gospel, even while their parents serve in ministries all over the Philippines.

Out of 2 Timothy 2:2 we find a premier passage related to passing the baton of ministry to the next generation... "The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."

When you join us in prayer ministry and regular financial partnership, you are investing in a movement of equipping a new generation for Christ and thereby partnering in a legacy for future ministry in the Philippines and beyond.

We are presently down in support by about 5% of our pledged monthly needs, which is common after arriving to the mission field again even after a long and fruitful furlough.  To invest in this work, simply click the button to go to ABWE's secure online donation page.  There you can arrange automatic monthly support.  All support donations are tax-deductible.

Well, in regards to the gospel being taken to Asia that could very well be true as many young Filipino men and women are preparing for ministry even as missionaries in other Asian countries.  They need our prayers!  We need to help prepare them.  Click on the button to see my new ministry blog..."THRIVE!".
