PAC (PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL) CORNER:

The Parent Advisory Council is pleased to be hosting a fundraiser in partnership with Blue Grass Nurseries.  There will be a variety of annuals for sale, including bedding flats, herbs/vegetable seedlings, and hanging baskets. These gorgeous plants may be all you need for your home and church garden this summer!  They also make great Mother’s Day gifts!
Order deadline is April 30th so ask your friends, family, and church about their gardening needs!  All orders and payment must be made to CWAA office by April 30th, no exceptions. Payment must accompany the order, and you may pay with cash, debit, cheque or credit card at the office or through your child’s homeroom teacher.
Pick up is scheduled for Thursday, May 9th and you must be available to pick up your order at the school by 3:15 on that day (or arrange to have someone pick it up for you).
We will need volunteers on the day of delivery to help count the order, label the plants and help parents with pick up.  Please email Melanie at mjlg@telus.net if you can help out on May 9th.
Parent Advisory Council will use all funds raised to enhance CWAA and the student experience. Thank you for your support!

You are invited to join us at the next PAC meeting on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 7:00 pm at CWAA. We will be planning a teacher and staff appreciation potluck for June and will need volunteers. Contact Lara Melashenko for more information.

2019-2020 STAFF CHANGES:

·      Our beloved teacher, Mrs. Sandra Dodds (Elementary PE, Grade 2 Team-Teacher) will be departing from CWAA, effective September 1, 2019. Mrs. Dodds has accepted the position of Music Teacher/Director at one of our sister Adventist schools,  Fraser Valley Adventist Academy (FVAA) in Aldergrove, BC. While we are thrilled that Mrs. Dodds has a new opportunity to inspire children through music education, we are deeply saddened to have to say goodbye.  She has been an extremely valuable and important part of our school community for the past 6 years. We will cherish the lasting impact she has made on our hearts and minds. Please take the time to share your gratitude and well-wishes with Mrs. Dodds, for her tremendous investment in our children. We wish Mrs. Dodds God‘s richest blessings as she pursues God‘s dreams and plans!
·      We are excited to share the news that Mrs. Alyssa Bergen (Grade 6 Teacher) is pregnant and expecting a baby in September! Praise God from whom all baby's flow! We will dearly miss Mrs. Bergen while she goes on maternity leave but look forward to meeting our new CWAA staff baby and watching God‘s blessings poured out onto Mr. & Mrs. Bergen‘s lives!  Please take the time to share your congratulations with Mrs. Bergen!

A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAPLAIN...

His Great Love 4 Us

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”  John 3:16, 17

Greetings Chinook Family,
In our finite minds it is hard to fathom this level of sacrifice and what it truly cost God for Jesus to leave heaven, become human, still be God and reach us here on this sin infested world.
The free gift of salvation paid in full by Jesus is what has stirred the hearts of men and women through the centuries.   Many of which suffered  and still suffer great turmoil and hardship, all because they accept and daily call on the name of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
Let us hold and tightly embrace this precious gift of grace given by Jesus who continues to say to us “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am [f]gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”  Matthew 11:28-30
May we never allow our minds to belittle this sacrifice, that cost heaven everything and is given to us as a free gift.   I can‘t wait to thank Jesus personally.  How about you?
Have a blessed Easter in the assurance of Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.
In Christ,
Paul Antunes
