Indigenous - Aboriginal Party Storms back in Victoria.

STORM HELLMUTH - New Victorian State Coordinator for the Indigenous - Aboriginal Party of Australia (IAPA).

Storm is a Darkinoong man now living and working gratefully on the country of the Wadawarrung people in Geelong. In Nov. 2022 he stood for the Legislative Council in the Western Victoria Region as an independent candidate backed by the IAPA. As an ungrouped independent below the line and with limited campaign time and resources he was up against it but far more important was how well thought of and connected he is in his Geelong community, easily finding 50 people happy to nominate him as a candidate (as required by the VEC) in the hurried lead up to the November, 2022 Victorian Election.

"Everyone deserves a decent shot at life."

Storm did it tough growing up but important role models, both men and woman, were able to intervene when he needed it most and put him back on track. He believes every kid, especially Indigenous kids, deserve that chance. Devoted partner to Angie and father of four, he wants to extend that nurturing attitude in to the wider community.

Storm has lost mates to suicide and knows the part early trauma can play in the desperation which can lead people to take their own lives. He wants to help build a fairer society, especially for Koori kids in Victoria which has the highest removal rate of Indigenous kids in the country and an increasing Indigenous suicide rate.

Successful in his own concreting and brick laying businesses...

Storm has worked his way up through brick-laying and concreting from an early age to operate two successful businesses: SLH Concreting and Spray paving/Epoxy flooring and 'Get Laid' Brick Laying.
Now Storm is spending a little less time on the tools he has more opportunity to commit to his Mob & the community in general.

"... good communicator ... honest, caring & great work ethic...attention to detail...pride in their work...organised...professional..."

These are some of the common themes in the many positive reviews given to Storm and his company by his very satisfied customers. He wants to bring that drive and care to getting the job done for the IAPA in Victoria. Storm has a passion to improve the lives of Koori people but he's a warm big-hearted bloke happy to help anyone in need regardless of their beliefs, culture, ethnicity or sexuality.

"...for a voice in Parliament, not just to it..."

During IAPA meetings for last Victorian State election, it was Storm who coined the slogan " ...for a voice in parliament, not just to it..."

Like everyone involved, Storm was disappointed that the IAPA didn't manage to get Victorian Registration with the VEC in 2022 but he doesn't give up easily and has offered to have to have another crack before the next State election in November 2026.

IAPA founder and Federal Convenor, Uncle Owen Whyman, was happy to put his trust in Storm to get the job done.

The IAPA is already Federally registered with the AEC so he will also make sure we have candidates ready for the Senate whenever the federal election is called.

So you may get a call or text or email from Storm on the contacts below:

Mobile: 0432 764 309‬

If he contacts you please have a yarn and be open to how you can help the IAPA to progress in Victoria and improve the lives of Kooris all over the State.
It could be as simple as agreeing to declare membership of the IAPA like so many of you did in 2022 or offering work and expertise in a range of areas; perhaps even running as a candidate. This is your party so dive in and help make it the party you want it to be.
Or please feel free to contact Storm yourself on the IAPA email or call / text him on his mobile.
