Pray for the Preachers of Emmanuel Baptist Church! Please continually pray for the men who partner together in the pulpit ministry at EBC! Having served in this particular ministry with most of these men I can tell you that they are determined to remain faithful and diligent as they prepare and deliver gospel-driven sermons. All of them desire to faithfully preach the gospel of Christ and the whole counsel of God. They want to lead their people to biblically-based living for Christ. All them are devoted to improving their skills in expository preaching!
Senior Pastor Vincent Castillo and brother Yutaka Matsumoto, the head EBC's deacon board, share the bulk of preaching both on Sunday and Wednesday prayer meetings. Brothers Nelson Badar and Jek Letana, who are deacons, will often step into the rotation when needed, especially in the summer. Other brothers who faithful join in this vital ministry when needed
are Rey Cruz and Pastor Erril Zapanta (not pictured).
Recently, EBC's former senior pastor Roi Cruz has returned to Manila from Canada for a visit. He will possibly joined the preaching team, at least temporarily. Pastor Roi was instrumental in our serving at EBC and was the first to welcome us into their church, their pulpit ministry and their men's and women's ministries. Pastor Joe Blasco, a former pastor at EBC, also recently preached at EBC as a guest.
In addition, EBC will host has a guest preacher once a month. In recent months, there were several guest preachers: Pastor Spencer John Gequillana, Eddie Rayos (PABWE -- missions branch of the denomination) and Pastor Roland Nantes.
I am so proud to say these men are my friends and that they are faithful servants of the Lord. Clearly they remain dedicated to the proclamation of the Good News and
leading people to new life and forgiveness in Christ.
Please pray for these men as they faithfully bring the Word of God to the wonderful brothers and sisters of Emmanuel Baptist! Thank for praying!

Pray for a Potentially Unique Opportunity! During our time at EBC our preaching coalition would regularly on a Monday or Tuesday evening at a local coffee shop to pray and discuss key elements of sermon prep and delivery. It was always an uplifting time to hear from these men and how they wanted to improve in their ministry calling. I miss the times I used to spend with these faithful brothers!
On October 24th a church we are presently attending will hold a men's ministry seminar on the subject "On Expository Preaching". With the help of brother Yutaka we hope to arrange for the EBC preachers to gather together at a local coffee shop and livestream the first 2 seminars that Friday evening. I will I attend the event Friday morning. Then at a later date we will "meet" via Zoom and discuss what we learned from the seminars.
Please pray that we can arrange this and then perhaps watch, learn and
discuss the other seminar sessions as we expect these will be recorded. This is just in the initial planning stages, but it could work out well! I might allow us to mutually encourage one another in the pulpit ministry again. Thanks for praying!
