Please think about turning up to support your Indigenous - Aboriginal Party of Australia (IAPA) candidates at their ballot draws today at midday if you can. The venues should be open from at least 11:30 am.This author has only been to the Queensland Senate Ballot draw but other members last election also went to the Page, Parkes, and Robertson Events. All events start with the reading out of the nominated candidates and their details. For the Senate nomination events that can take a long time and be a bit boring, so if you are a little late don't be too concerned. The ballot draw which comes after is more interesting. This decides the position of all the candidates on the ballot paper. While this is just determined by luck, it can be very important, especially for small parties like us who don't have a huge budget and network of people giving out how-to-vote cards to direct voters to their party. So for parties like us, it is very helpful to have our name and logo on a more visible place on the ballot paper, especially for the Senate.
