 b. Learning Tool Show & Tell: Land Acknowledgements at UBC -- March 11 2:00-3:15pm

This past Fall term, you may have had the opportunity to participate in Indigenous Initiatives’ Virtual Land Acknowledgements at UBC workshop. Beginning this February, you can now take this training asynchronously. Join us for this session as the facilitation team of the Virtual Land Acknowledgements at UBC workshop walk learners through the new online learning tool, and reflect as a team on the process behind its development.

Note: this session is not dedicated to discussing land acknowledgements themselves, but the development of the training tool.

c. Tools for Implementing the UBC Indigenous Strategic Plan in your Classroom -- March 29 1:00-2:30pm

This session will feature Vicki George, Associate Director, Office of Indigenous Strategic Initiatives and Alex Ash, Indigenous Strategic Planning Manager to discuss how you can start to align your teaching with the Indigenous Strategic Plan (ISP), to learn about the ISP implementation toolkit and how you can situate yourself in relation to Indigenous engagement and advance Indigenous human rights in your classroom.

The article includes discussion on microaggressions and addressing problematic incidents as they happen in the classroom.

4. The Indigenous Strategic Plan: An Overview CTLT November Edubytes

In CTLT’s November Edubyte, the CTLT Indigenous Initiatives and the Indigenous Strategic Planning teams collaborated on this article to highlight resources to help the teaching and learning community understand and help implement the Indigenous Strategic Plan into their pedagogy.

In honour of the Tools for Implementing the UBC Indigenous Strategic Plan in your Classroom on March 29, we are resharing this article as a way to further your knowledge of the ISP before the session or if you cannot attend.
