Welcome to the Future: Robots in Long-Term Care

Giggles is one of 10 robots that are part of a new project to support virtual family visits, led by CHÉOS Research Associate Dr. Lillian Hung. The project is looking at how robots can be used to reduce social isolation in long-term care. Jim, a patient partner and study co-lead for the project, got to test drive Giggles with residents at Minoru Residence in Richmond.

Wearable Tech Improves Care for Those with Parkinson's

A new study out of UBC Okanagan has examined the use of wearable health technology to track Parkinson's patients' movements and identify peak times patients experience symptoms. The data collected from wearable devices was used to enhance telehealth appointments.
