Dear Victorian members This newsletter is especially for you.
Firstly, thank you for joining the Indigenous-Aboriginal Party of Australia (IAPA).
However, we know many of you were disappointed that you couldn‘t vote for us in the recent federal election as we had no candidates standing in Victoria.
We want to change that but we need your help.

With the Victorian state election approaching we would like to register IAPA in Victoria and establish a Victorian branch.
(IAPA is registered as a federal political party with the AEC, but to stand candidates in a Victorian state election, a separate registration process is required; we must register the party with the Victorian Electoral Commission.)

About you
* You will be either Indigenous or Non-Indigenous * You won‘t necessarily have any political experience. * You will have a desire to ’do something worthwhile and meaningful‘ with your time. * You will be computer literate, with your own computer and internet access * You will have attention to detail, with the ability to follow a process as set out by a governing body, i.e. the VEC. * You will have plenty of initiative and drive and (like our NSW and QLD party coordinators who are just ’normal people‘) you will be a passionate person with a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of Indigenous Australians. * Once you have learnt the ropes you will have free rein to get creative with ideas, social media, and perhaps establish a team around you, etc.
As a grassroots party, we have community at our heart. We don‘t have an official office
space, we work from our homes, we come up with ideas and run with them, we ask our neighbours for help.
If this sounds like something you could get on board with, then maybe this opportunity is for you.

CAN THE PARTY BE REGISTERED IN TIME for VIC STATE ELECTION?
Definitely worth a try. Registration applications must be in by 29 July 2022.
|
CAN INDEPENDENT INDIGENOUS PEOPLE stand with the blessing of the PARTY if registration does not happen in time?
ABSOLUTELY! ! We have one young Indigenous woman from Mildura, who is happy to run as an Independent with backing from the Indigenous-Aboriginal Party of Australia.

| Please email the office immediately if you are interested in this role and tell us a bit about yourself.
Questions are more than welcome. You can arrange a chat with our current NSW coordinator/s (Lisa and Gab, pictured) if you like.
Thank you for reading this email, for considering this opportunity, or for sharing it with someone who may be interested.
Big hug to all our Victorian members. Fingers crossed we find someone. If no one steps forward, then we may not be able to run any candidates in Victoria.
Fingers crossed, from Uncle Owen and Gab and Lisa (from the NSW ’office‘)
