Adversity and challenging times may remind us of our shared vulnerability and that life makes no promises. This may be frightening at times but it can also inspire kindness, connection, and the desire to stand together and support each other. The pandemic as unpleasant as it may be, has also been an opportunity to experience the most beautiful aspects of life: social support, connection and love.

|
This whole experience has shone a light on the important roles that public schools play in supporting a functioning society beyond the delivery of curriculum. It has also featured the wide range of services that the public education system provides.

Caring Counsellors Counsellors are available for students and families. Many are trying hard to connect with students in need. In some cases it can be very difficult because of lack of telephone or internet at home, or students having moved houses temporarily.
| Dedicated Custodians Very grateful to all custodians who are so dedicated to the safety of students and staff, and to the continuation of learning for all students.

| Virtual opportunities for LGBTQ2S+ students to connect. Students from the LGBTQ2S+ community, who may be feeling vulnerable and disconnected from their peers and schools, now have more virtual opportunities to connect with each other during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lean on Me Canada! As a final musical treat during the all-Canadian charity TV special Stronger Together, more than two dozen artists banded together for a virtual ensemble of Lean On Me.
