TRIO UPWARD BOUND
TRIO Upward Bound (UB) is a pre-college program that assists high school students in completing high school and pursuing and completing post-secondary education. UB teaches students about college entrance exams, college choices, preparing for college while still in high school, and so much more.

TRIO UB offers a wide range of services that help students gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to successfully graduate high school.

LAST MEETING!
The last recruitment meeting is this Saturday! 

If you have any parts of your application completed you can bring them this Saturday! The staff can go through it and be sure everything looks good before the deadline.

Location 

Students will go to the ground floor in the General Academic Building (red square around). The ground floor is accessible through the stairs located on the side of the building (where the black arrow is pointing at). Parents should drop students off at the intersection of S. Ave B and W. Mulberry St. (highlighted in yellow). This will also be where parents will pick up students after each meeting.

DOODLE FOR GOOGLE

The Doodle 4 Google competition is offered annually for students in grades K-12. To apply, one must submit a sketch or image including the Google logo in the context of this year's theme. All doodles must be sent no later than the deadline. Click here to learn more and apply today! Application requirements for the Doodle for Google are:

Additional Information: Doodle for Google is an annual program that invites K-12 students in the United States to use their artistic talents to think big and redesign the Google homepage logo for millions to see. The winner‘s artwork will be published as an interactive doodle on Google.com in addition to other scholarships and prizes that are available. Award selection will be based upon the following qualities: artistic skill and technique; creativity and originality; effective representation of the current year's topic; and adherence to all official rules and requirements. Any submissions that contain derogatory, offensive, or copyrighted content will be immediately disqualified.

Award Amount: $30,000 annually, non-renewable for the national winner. The winning applicant's school will also receive a $50,000 technology grant. National finalists will receive $5,000 for educational expenses.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $150,000.

Requirements

 - This award is for U.S. students.
 - Must be currently enrolled in grades K-12.
 - Must have an interest in drawing and visual art.
 - Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.

Submission 

In order to apply for this award, the applicant must submit a drawing which incorporates the Google logo and this year's competition theme. Applications must be signed by a parent, guardian, or teacher and mailed to the provider. Parents and teachers may also submit a student's work through the online application. All submissions must be received by the deadline date.

T-Mobile Internet Access

Project 10Million‘s Direct to Parent/Guardian program provides internet access to eligible families that have a student enrolled in the National School Lunch program. Approved families receive 100GB of mobile data per year for 5 years and a FREE mobile hotspot, plus the opportunity to purchase devices at a low cost.
